Farming Status and Plans

Farming status:

Full time

Description of farming status, plans, and practices:

Currently I run a small goat farm with on farm creamery with an established customer base in the mid Hudson valley/Catskill region. Demand for product has outgrown the farm's current location and I  am seek out a new location for the farm that will hopefully keep us in the area of our long time customers. Business has moved from mostly regional farmers market sales to the wider reach of a small wholesale distributor that has allowed products to reach the NY metro area and demand has grown amazingly over the few past year.  I manage the goat herd organically and have signed the NOFA-NY Farmers Pledge. The farm has been in foodie publications both in print and on line and has the momentum to move forward in great ways. I have the goat herd, creamery equipment, and the experience and would like to connect with someone with land and a passion for local food, farming and communtiy to bring the farm to the next level.

Description of marketing method:

Historically regional farmers markets including Kingston, New Paltz, Nyack, and Bethel "Woods Harvest Festival. A greater emphasis on wholesale NY Metro area, New Jersey and boyond through Hudson Valley Harvest which is one of the motivations for seeking a larger location to grow the farm. We have since expanded our wholesale business out to Boston and throughout NYC to the Capital District and Saratoga Springs.
