We will cover a range of topics from using online tools for a “first look” at a site to basic site requirements such as nutrients, soil, organic matter and access to markets. Livestock Production for Beginning Farmers

This class will include everything from keeping animals for domestic use to small and mid-scale commercial animal operations. We will cover production and marketing considerations for the most common livestock types (cattle, small ruminants, pigs and poultry) as well as the emerging possibilities of less common, though potentially profitable livestock systems, such as non-native species.
