Description of the property’s current condition and current use(s):
There are 2 houses on the farm. One is used by my family at times during the year, but the other house is vacant. It is a large 4 bedroom farmhouse from 1800's. We are currently renovating this home and are looking forward to renting it out. I am looking for a few individuals, a family, farmers or what ever makes most sense to live in this wonderful farmhouse (beautiful views of the Catskills) and help to maintain the farm area. I am open to small animals (Sheep, Goats, Chickens, Turkeys, etc) and Bees. Currently we have most of the tillable land farmed for hay, but I am open to other ideas as well.
There is a fullsized barn that previously used to house cattle and horses. It is clean and ready to house animals. There are several sections in the barn, ready to accommodate multiple animal groups.
There is a chicken coop that still looks good and can store chickens.
There is running stream 20 feet away from the barn, and I am also open to making sure running water works inside the barn. (currently not yet).
There is a 2nd barn in disrepair at this point but I am open to renovation of that one - where it used to many many chickens.
I am a very flexible "farm owner" who is really looking for folks who love the farm we have, would like to help to maintain the farm, and would be happy spending time in the land, living in the renovated farmhouse, and helping out.
Farm history / past uses of the property:
Used to house grape vines. Used to have bees. Used to have apple trees a long time ago. Currently has a few apple trees and a few pear trees but that is it. Used to have 3 small personal gardens. Currently used for hay.
Infrastructure and equipment:
Water access description:

Farmer housing description:
The house is a 4 bedroom structure in good shape in the inside. We are currently renovating it and will be ready for living sometime in March. The Catskills are in the view of the back of the house, there are 2 large parlors on the first floor, a working kitchen, a back area from 1750's with a large room and 3 pantries, a beautiful staircase leading up to 3 large bedrooms, a large bright washer/dryer room, and 2 bathrooms (one upstairs, one downstairs).

Types of livestock permitted on the property:
Livestock/crops description :
currently only hay is packaged up on the land.
Description of tenure options:
I would prefer a short term lease this first time, just to make sure things are working out. After which a longer term would be possible.
Do you require a farmer who qualifies for agricultural assessment?:
Are you willing to have the public on the property as a part of the farm business?:
Any additional information about this property:
This is a home that has been in my family for 50 years, and was willed to my brother and myself. We do not live here full time and would love to lease to someone who would care about the farm as we do. We would love to see folks living here who love the land and property the way we do.
