Property Description

Soil types:

Channery loamy till derived mainly from local slate or shale, well-drained

Description of the property’s current condition and current use(s):

This beautiful property is currently being used as a commercial orchard and mixed vegetable farm. The 7.5 acres in production are broken down as follows: Empire, 2.5 acres; Jonamack, 2 acres; Peaches/Apricots, 2 Acres; Vegetable Land, 1.5 acres, which has a greenhouse (30x90) with a furnace but no plastic. The property holds a variety of critical storage and infrastructure components. The business currently enjoys a prominent presence at New York City’s Greenmarkets. The site is 2 miles from route 9W and only a short drive of about 10 minutes from highway 84 and Newburgh. Given this location, it has enormous potential as a site for a u-pick operation, on-farm cidery, or winery. There is ample space for parking.

Farm history / past uses of the property:

My Grandfather purchased the farm in 1924 and we believe it was already an orchard when he did so.
