Farming Status and Plans

Description of farming status, plans, and practices:

We run a small compost collection and production company.  We are actively looking for 1-3 new sites (long term lease, partnership, future ownership) and would prefer to collaborate with a farmer who may need compost. We collect and compost food scraps, wood, leaves and manure.  We are developing a high quality regional product and are committed to promoting the environmental benefits of composting for soils, water and climate mitigation.

Currently using a airated static pile system.  Can use poor quality land but needs to be flat and will need to use or develop an improved surface (ie concrete, asphalt) pad for composting.  Also need accessability for trucks and access to electric & water (not a big consumer of either).   

Description of marketing method:

Selling wholesale and retail - bulk and bagged products
