Description of farming status, plans, and practices:
I used to work on an 18 acre CSA farm that also supplied local restaurants. Now I am currently managing a 3 acre CSA farm located on a NY State Park. I am 25 years old with a strong work ethic and I am ready to take my career to the next step. I am a organic small scale intensive no till farmer that also follows the biodynamic calendar and uses biodynamic preparations. My goal is to preserve soil structure and create a balanced ecosystem on the farm. I also have tons of carpentry skills and although I don't use a tractor much I have a ton of tractor experience. I study herbalism a bit and would like to grow a ton of medicinal herbs to offer to the community. My plan is to find a place to relocate my family and live a good life. I would like to start or manage an operation that supplys a CSA to the surrounding local community, markets and supplys local chefs with fresh produce. A place where I can have community events, educate kids and the local community about how they can grow a garden of their own. My partner is a yoga teacher and we hold yoga retreats together Upstate. I grow and cook all the food while she teaches the classes. They have been super successful for us! Ultimately our goal is to have a place where we can have the best of both worlds. A farm that offers yoga retreats and education. I would like to have chickens or ducks and possibly a heard of goats in the future. I would also like to venture into cultivating log grown mushrooms.

I've farmed organically on Long Island for 6 years now. I started by transforming my parents once barren backyard into a full-scale market garden growing hundreds of pounds of food for my family. The farm I use to work on is 18 acres, providing vegetables to over 250 CSA members and local restaurants. Now I am currently managing a 3 acre CSA farm that is located on a NY State Park called The Bayard Cutting Arboretum. I would like to relocate upstate and I am open to leasing, owning or managing.
