Description of farming status, plans, and practices:

I am looking for land in or near Ulster County to farm holistically managed beef cattle.  Desired herd size would be roughley 50-80 head.  Emphasis lies on managment intensive grazing and ecological stewardship.  I am currently working full-time off farm, I am interested in either working with a farmer with similar values who is transitioning out of the business to eventually purchase his herd and land, or buying land outright that will facilitate the business listed above.

Description of livestock/crops:

rotationally grazed, intensively managed cattle,sheep, or goat herd.  Grass-fed, grass-finished, no haromones or antibiotics.

Experience description:

I have worked on multiple farms focusing on different practices ranging from pasture raising animals, organic vegtable growing, and permaculture operations to urban farming initiatives.  I have a B.S. from Rutgers University in Environmental Planning and Design, and have natural building and construction expereince.  I have also managed an Urban Farming non-profit focusing on community outreach and environmental education.
