Farming Status and Plans
Farming status:Not currently farming
Description of farming status, plans, and practices:
Over the past decade I have worked on 3 organic farms, studied agroecology at UCSC, obtained a graduate degree in agircultural policy at American University, and created agroecological gardens in Latin America.
My past experiences have led me to the understanding that I am most contented when I am farming. So, I am now in the process of finding the right piece of land and community to start a small farm. I intend on having 2-4 acres in production, and would like to incorporate a mobile cafe, that I built this past year, as a venue for selling my produce. Also, I would love to find a parcel that has a conservation easement on it, or retains the qualities necessary for obtaining one.
Description of marketing method:
My marketing methods will depend on the farm I am able to work with or obtain; however, I will be utilizing farmers markets, a CSA, and a farm-to-trailer stand that I recently constucted as outlets for produce.

I have worked on two different farms in New York state, studied agroecology as an apprentice at the UCSC Farm and Garden for one year, and created gardens in Latin America with the help of two non-prfits. I would like to either manage for a year or so on an established farm or begin the process of creating my own diversified agroecological farm.
