Description of farming status, plans, and practices:

My husband and Iare currently operating a small hobby farm in Ulster County, but are putting a plan together to transition to full-time farming with another couple as business partners. We would like to establish a vineyard as well as raising beef, poultry, and sheep. We also have a small bee operation. 

Description of marketing method:

We intend to begin with direct sales to consumers and local restaurants/markets.

It is our ultimate goal to own the land which we are working, but are open to leasing or other creative arrangements to get the ball rolling on the right piece of property.

We are learning as we grow. My husband grew up working on a dairy farm in upstate NY. I have no formal ag education, but am raising two 4-H kids and learning as fast as I can. I am exploring options for formal education in grape production and wine making.
