Description of farming status, plans, and practices:
I started my own business, Roots, Shoots, and Flowers LLC, in 2018 and grew this past season on leased land. My business currently focuses on producing top shelf produce to sell to restaurants and at famer's markets in New York City. My specialties are organically produced peppers, culinary herbs, and edible flowers. I am looking for a longer term agreement with a landowner and I am open to partnerships.
Description of marketing method:
NYC Greenmarkets and direct to restaurant sales. I am looking to expand wholesale in years 2 and 3. I am also looking to produce a wide range of dried products which may be sold at a number of outlets locally.

Tractor of sufficient horsepower to perform necessary tillage and property maintenance. Implements for tractor to perform tillage and maintenance.

Access to clean water suitable for washing produce. Access to sufficient water volume and pressure to water crops efficiently and appropriately.

Specialty culinary and medicinal herbs for fresh and dried products. Edible flowers. Specialty vegetables with a focus on peppers but I also grow greens, eggplant, and squash amongst others.

I began farming in Massachusetts where I had my first experiences working for large CSA production farms. I have worked for both privately owned farms and for non-profits. I have two years apprenticeship experience where I was trained on everything from tractor operation and maintenace to vegetable production and marketing. Since my appenticeships I have worked under multiple farmers learning different business models and production methods. This last year I started my own farm and business which I operated entirely on my own.
